Katsina United took an early lead in Nnewi and seemed to be running away with a victory, before the Nigeria cup holders peg them back with a late equaliser.
The United coach said he is confident Katsina team will hold their own back in the NPFL after the 1-1 draw by hosts FC Ifeanyi Ubah this afternoon.
“It was a good match for us and the long journey of coming down to the east from the north for a friendly gave me more insight of what to expect from the NPFL when the season commences,” said coach Nikyu.
“I am really pleased with the quality of our play.” He added
Both teams will play a second friendly on Wednesday.
