According to the club chairman Alhaji Aminu
Balele Kurfi (Dan Arewa), the club’s budget in the NPFL will be boosted with
support from institutions like MaxAir, Nigerian indigenous airline own by
Katsina-based business man, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, Banks and other corporate
bodies.
The club chairman expressed his appreciation on
the financial support they have been enjoying from the State Government,
though, he insisted that they will need to find other prospects of sourcing
revenue to be competitive in the NPFL due to the current economic recession in
the country.
He further stated that; by the continuous dwindling of the
federal allocation to the state, it would be suicidal to completely depend on
government funding and called on the sports loving sons and daughters of the
state come to the aid of the club.
“We have enormous challenge on our hands. Now
that we are in the topflight of the Nigerian league, we need more funds to
survive. And because of the dwindling of the federal allocation to the state,
we can’t continue to depend on government funding.
“Even as we have enjoyed unwavering support from
government, we have to thinking on how to use the club to make money for
government also. We need to diversify and we are calling on corporate bodies to
come to our aid.
“We are targeting top institution like MaxAir,
Banks and other corporate organization as well as individuals.
“There are so many other Katsina State indigenes
that love sports and are there for us to meet for assistance.
“If given the necessary support, we shall
reciprocate by winning laurels for the state.”
