The Killings in Katsina: Dear President Buhari By Baba-Bala Katsina

Pray For Katsina State
"When you were campaigning, people were crying, some fainting, upon seeing you. We loved you, unconditionally."

We voted you massively in Katsina. We Saved you the shame of losing even 25% of votes from your home state. We did that in 2019 when the state was ravaged by bandits. We dared the bullets and went to vote you. When you were campaigning, people were crying, some fainting, upon seeing you. We loved you, unconditionally. We could be aggressive if something negative was said about you. We voted you because, first and foremost, we love you. We felt that you're part of us.

What we expected from you then, first, is security; to secure life, and then our land; for farming, trade and commerce, which are the bedrock of our economy.

The story today is different. Bandits are now killing us like rats, raping our women and kidnapping anybody at sight. They have taken over the state. The people are getting tired of waiting for government to take action. They feel abandoned. They may take arms. Anarchy looms.

And all we get from you is silence. Indifference, some thought. We have now become a laughing stock on social media from Nigerians who didn't vote for you and thus warned us against that. We didn't listen. They laugh while we die in agony. What have we done to you to deserve this, dan girman Allah?

Some would say you don't know, but POSTERITY will not recognise such excuse. Historians who will write the history of your administration long after you left office, will not take that excuse either. Katsina is too important to be ignored, if she's any important to the Villa.

Please Sir, do something and Save Katsina.

Thank you,
From one of those who vigorously campaigned for you,

Baba-Bala Katsina
Tsangayar Malam Dan Malam
