Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir rajiun, Allah (SWT) Said in the Holy Qur'an: "every soul must taste the death"
Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir rajiun, Allah (SWT) Said in the Holy Qur'an: "every soul must taste the death", It has been often said, "nothing you love is lost, but this is not real especially when it comes to life and death. Life can never stay the same no matter how/what, our hands can never stop the clock of life from moving forward and People passed away before, many will definitely go sooner or later. That is really what Allah, the Creator ordained. But the things that ever circulates in people's mindset are the memories of death that are sticked to our hearts before our time come too. For the loss of someone you know especially an intimate to you is very painful, and the sorrowful time still remain fresh always to the extent that your memory will never pause in reading, thinking, reflecting and assuming what you have being doing together for the time being.
As for ME and my immediate brother, late NAJIB ALIYU YUNUSA, we grow together among our peers, enrolled into primary school together, the same day, the same time, the same school, during long break we ate the same food and played together in the short break period respectively. After closing hours we usually stay in the same waiting point where our school bus used to picked us back to our home. As for home activities, we equally have been doing things in collaboration like reading, home work, playing, washing, ironing and other things. The most interesting thing is that in senior Secondary School (Rumfa College) we were even merged in the same classroom taken lessons from the same teacher under the same roof, in fact from childhood to adolescent age we have been doing things in common, we share the same room and bed for more than 20 years up to the time when I was asked to answer the clarion call in Borno State in 2009 and subsequently before the end of my NYSC he was transferred to Abuja from kano, that was the time we were forced to apart by nature but our intimacy still remain closed up to the time when he finally departed this world.
Born in Tarauni ward the then Kano Municipal, (now Tarauni Local Govt) Kano, on 19th May, 1983. NAJIB started his early islamic education at Mallam Bature Qur'anic school (Makarantar Allo) in Tarauni and Da'awah Islamiyyah, Sulaiman Crescent both in Kano. Enrolled into Magwan Model Primary School in 1990. He obtained his Junior Secondary School Certificate (JSCE) from Govt Junior Secondary School Sabuwar Kofa (1998) and later proceed to prestigious Rumfa College Kano where he gained his Senior School Certificate (SSCE) in 2001. He got admission into Federal College of Education(FCE Kano) the same year and obtained NCE in Business Administration in 2005. He started working with Sani Brothers Petroleum Ltd/ later Azman Oil and Gas as a Cashier in 2007 and later promoted to Manager, a position he held way until his death. During his stay in Abuja, he joined University of Abuja to obtain B.Ed in languages.
A gentle, courageous and industrious NAJIB has done very well especially in the course of discharging his duties. As a Manager, he influenced the offer of appointment to many people particularly our neighbors in the company he was working.
Even though we are not in the same town our relationship and intimacy became matured enough and so cordial to the extend that I used to hang around waiting for him to come and pick me in Kaduna or Zaria on his way back from Abuja to Kano, the journey on several times that had been so interested and gave us an opportunity to discuss much concerning ourselves, our family and other issues. By the will of Allah, the Almighty, suddenly death took him forever away from us on Friday 18th May, 2012. (8 years today). His family members, friends, class mates, colleagues, neighbours suffered serious pains with his demise. His simplicity, level headed, respect to elders, kindness to friends, jovial to children, justice to subordinates, fairness to neighbours, straight forward to all, industrious to work, dedicative to religion and above all fear of Allah are his excellent qualities that make me to shed tears always I remember the good times we spent together. My unflinching love, endless prayers remains always for you till the time we will join you in this genuine and real journey.
He died at the age of 29, one day prior to his birthday (19th May 1983 to 18th May 2012). He left behind one wife, a son (Ahmad Najib), his parents and 19 brothers and sisters.
May the repose of His gentle soul be in Jannatul Firdausi. May Allah continue to give us the courage and fortitude to bear this irreparable lost of our dear brother. I pray by the grace of Allah by now you have secured a first class apartment in Jannatul firdaus and may we meet you there as inmates.
Allah ya kyautata makwanci dan uwa.
