NNPC to begin oil exploration in Gombe State
The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC has confirmed to the people of Gombe State that they would soon embark on oil exploration in their State.
Dr. Maikanti Kachalla Baru stated that the attempt followed a directive from President Muhammadu Buhari for the search and possible exploration of crude oil in commercial quantity in the neighboring Niger and Chad Republic. He said NNPC would soon conduct feasibility in Akko, Billiri, Balanga, Dukku local government areas of the state.
The GMD also added that the NNPC is currently conducting exploration activities in the Chad Basin and some areas in Bauchi State, where Shell had made indicative discovery of hydrocarbon.
