Governor Masari Dispenses Over N500m On Foreign Scholarship

Katsina State Governor Rt. Honorable Aminu Bello Masari has released over N500 million as part payment of fees for its students abroad.

According the Special Adviser to the state governor on Higher Education, Dr. Badamsi Lawal Charanchi, who said the government is working towards meeting all its obligations to the 140 indigence of the state studying in various tertiary institutions in Jordan, Sudan and Maradi in neighbouring Niger Republic.

Dr. Charanchi stated this while Speaking at the begining of a four day 9th joint colleges’ conference of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina, Quoted the statistics to buttress the fact that the top priority of Masari's administration is education, he stressed that the government is laying a solid foundation for the overall development of education and other sectors in the state.

The governor’s aide, who urged the staff of polytechnic and other tertiary institutions owned by the state to join hands with the government to reposition the education sector, noted that almost all allowances of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institutions had been settled by the government.

He assured that in spite of the economic recession confronting the country, Governor Masari had been working relentlessly to move the state forward.
