MTN to deactivate Blackberry Services before end of January

MTN Blackberry users will no longer be able to subscribe as the giant telecom company plans to stop Blackberry services in Nigeria beginning from January 27th.

This was confirmed in a message, the telecom company sent to subscribers on Friday, which reads:

“Dear customer, MTN BlackBerry service will be decommissioned on 27/01/2017. Please upgrade to a smartphone and enjoy 100% bonus on any data bundle purchased.”

In another message, it was announced that the deactivation does not affect BB 10 users and it reads:

‎"Dear customer, please note that BB service decommissioning will affect BB OS plans only (BIS,BBC). BB10 devices can still enjoy MTN data bundles.
