N13 million vanishes from Katsina State accountant car booth

An accounts staff with Katsina State Government is presently assisting Police detectives over the mysterious disappearance of N13m inside his car’s booth.

According to a report by Punch, Abubakar works in the finance department of the state Ministry of Women Affairs, withdrawn the money which was meant to settle some of the ministry’s financial obligations from a bank.

On getting to the office, he parked and went into the office to clear space to put the money for safe keeping.


By the time he came out to remove the money from his car booth, he discovered that the money is no where to be found.


Abubakar was said to have subsequently cried out for help, the development which drew the attention of his other colleagues and that of passers-by.


The Police were thereafter invited, and Abubakar has since been with the detectives who are still investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.


“Yes, I heard something like that. We have someone bearing that name (Abubakar Aliyu) with us. He is assisting us in our investigation, which is still going on."


The state Police Command’s spokesman, Dsp. Salisu Agaisa, confirmed the development.
