The 12th May, 2017 gathering to celebrate the wedding Fatiha of General Babangida's daughter Halima Babangida in Minna Niger State is yet another jamboree by the Landlord or owners of the Nigerian Plc.
This mass gathering witnessed the presence of the most prominent power wielders in the Nigerian past and present, cuts across all political, religious, ethnic and tribal divides. The armada of about 30 planes landed in Minna International Airport is a showcase of the most high level meeting of who is who in Nigeria. The caliber of people in attendance left several analysts to conclude that, the motives behind such a historic gathering is to give impetus to the much awaited almighty 2019, a forth coming year which every Nigerian nurturing political ambition is putting his weight behind.
The bitter truth about this gathering is that those in attendance where conveyed to consolidate their vested interest rather than bringing anything that will be beneficial to the Nigerian teaming masses. Most of the prominent people in attendance were those whose characters are questionable, including those on trials before several courts of law across Nigeria, and those that have been opportune to positively change the cause of Nigeria but failed to do so, among which are the host whose eight years in power is characterized as the beginning of the Nigerian woes. The power show left Nigerians speculating that besides the wedding Fatiha, there must be other reasons for such mass gathering, this led to the conclusion that the wedding was served as an avenue for continued consultation and promotion of interest ahead of the 2019 general election and beyond, and the gathering help decide who's going to get what and how, including the continued using of national institutions such as the National Assembly to truncate any government agenda brought before them which will thwart the current administration's effort to bring sanity to the Nigerian political system, the desired change and the government's fight against corruption which is the most government agenda touching all past and present political office holders, civil servants and businessmen whose hands were smeared in corruption and other financial crimes without fear or favour, or possibly to discuss the much reported coup plots against the current government, which was confirmed by the Nigerian Chief of Army Staff that it's true some politicians are reaching out to military officers seeking for their help to purge the government. Most of the political bigwigs in attendance are not in support of the current administration's policies especially the way the war against corruption is being fought, because they are the highest victims due to their past or present misdeed against the Nigerian state, and can do anything possible to truncate the process.
It's time Nigerians shall tell the conspirators that they can no longer be bargain and sold out for a meagre and unsustainable secure and stable life, and that they choose to be at the vanguard of positive and sustainable change for a better Nigeria as a barge of duty and honour for themselves and the generation beyond. And the old rotten system shall be put to rest to allow a new generation with vision and passion for a greater Nigeria to prevail. The likes of Maradona shall not be put at the forefront of charting political cause for Nigeria, Nigerians had had enough of him given the fact that his regime as the Nigerian military Head of State promotes the Nigerian economic, political and social problems, with a record of pervasive corruption, mismanagement, impunity, recklessness among other vices. Those wishing to join hands with Maradona to achieve their political ambition shall be wary of the fact that Nigerians are getting wiser and socialize politically, and the electoral system under reform might be at the detriment of those who want to dribble their way into the corridors of power using tricks including force.
Whatever their motives are, Nigerians keenly awaits the results of such a megalomanic jamboree in the Maradona's Hilltop House Minna Niger State.
