Burning Mosquito Coil Kills
Fire outbreak as a result of burning mosquito coil has claimed the lives of a mother and four of her children.

According to a report by Daily Trust, 24-year-old Yana Adam and her four children two boys and two girls died from the fire incident which occurred last Thursday in Shuwari North, Maiduguri metropolitan council.

The five victims were reportedly burnt beyond recognition. Yana’s husband was out of town when the incident happened.

“The mother woke up at 12:15am when the fire started raging and the house was filled with smoke, making breathing difficult. She rushed out crying for help, telling people that her children were inside. “But when she realised that her little boy, 4 months old, she went back and was engulfed by the fire,” said one of their neighbours.

They were all buried the next day according to Islamic rites.
