2010 October Bombing: Court Sentence Charles Okah & Other To Life Imprisonment

The October 1st bombing controversies is not going to be over yet, some may rightly address it as so because a sitting government try to exonerate these convicted despite the fact they claim responsibility of the act in 2010.

Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday sentenced Charles Okah and his co-defendant, Obi Nwabueze, to life imprisonment for masterminding the bomb blasts which occurred in Abuja on October 1, 2010 and, earlier in Warri, Delta State, on March 15 of the same year.

The two convicts were said to have planned the attacks with Charles' elder brother, Mr. Henry Okah, the leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, who had been convicted of the same offence in a South African court.

As at the time of filing this report, it has not been confirmed if they will appeal the judgement, an option that seem to be their obvious next step.
