The Katsina State governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari has ordered the closure of land borders in the state in a bid to tackle the Corovirus pandemic.
The governor took to his twitter account to announce that all borders will be closed from 6:00 am on 28th/3/2020.
He said "My dear people of Katsina State, you are all aware of the COVID–19 pandemic that's ravaging the world. You are also aware that the suspected case we had tested negative. Against this background that I implore you to be conscious and vigilant of this global crisis."
"While praying that Katsina remains Coronavirus free, the state government has taken all necessary steps, to ensure that our hospital is better positioned with the basic requirement that includes personal protective equipment and supportive commodities to handle any eventuality."
"In addition the temporary isolation centre at General hospital, we are building an emergency infection diseases ward at general Amadi Rimi special Hospital. We should also abide by the teaching of Islam as it affects hygiene and outbreak of this nature."
"In our determination to contain the possible spread of the dreaded COVID19, We have directed that all staff in the state and Local government services should stay at home until further notice. In the same being, all our borders will be closed from 6:00 am on 28th/3/20018"
