Katsina State Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, has approved for the temporary lifting of lockdown order on every Friday of the week throughout the State
In a statement signed by the secretary to state government Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, the governor explained that ban on Friday prayers and inter-local Government travel across the State has also been lifted.
Masari has also lifted the ban on Church services in all the 34 Local Government Areas of the state.
He said easing the lockdown order is to take effect from Friday 29th May 2020.
However, people are strongly advised to observe and adhere to health and security protocols such as wearing of face mask, social distancing, washing of hands and use of sanitizer.
The Governor said the decision was to enable Muslims and Christian faithfuls to observe their weekly religious activities and also use the Fridays for other essential needs.
He however emphasized that security agents will be on ground to punish offenders.
The Governor restated his commitment to lift the lockdown in any of the affected areas whenever their situation improves.
