"This house is falling. Abandoned to rot by its leaders, elders, scholars, religious establishment and whoever constitutes its elite class ..."
This house is falling. Abandoned to rot by its leaders, elders, scholars, religious establishment and whoever constitutes its elite class. They choose politics, wealth, and power play over the future of this house and its occupants.
Youth, the supposed vanguard of its renaissance have had their attention focused on the leftover drop by the political elites. The house is now left in the hands of bandits who invaded it and have been killing and raping women at will; because its guards have abandoned their duty posts for a luxury that won't last a generation. Wealth and power also grow old, as humans do.
No one loves this house for what it has become today. This, after it made them what they are. It gave them life, security, wealth, and power. They forget, so easily.
But this house will rise back to glory InshaAllah. That's how history works. The domestic servants upon whom its left to crash will rebuild it. Back to a shape and beauty never seen before. It will be the centre of education and scholarship, of power, of commerce, of excellence and of whatever it had never been before.
But the history of what it is today has to be written. Its friends and foes will have a space in the books for the coming generations to read; to know how after reaping the benefits that come with being from this house, its elites abandon it to rot; to crash on the heads of its domestic servants who were left at the mercy of bandits, the killers and polluters of the coming generation through raping. History then will determine how their families will be treated when they return back home seeking shelter after their term of asylum in foreign lands must have ended.
Katsina shall rise to glory again InshaAllah. No politics, no power play, no wealth accumulation or indifference could ruin it to ground. This too shall pass.
